How does digital smile design work?


It begins by taking photographs and scanning the teeth. Digital tools are used to create facially driven smile designs that account for personality, facial flow, and treatment goals. These designs deliver predictable results and a unique patient experience. We have been employing this technology at West End Dental and will be utilizing it much more!


DSD by Coachman. Digital Smile Design is a process that employs digital technology including photography, intraoral scanning, 3D xray imaging, DSDapp and DSD Lab to create smiles that help people feel more confidant and successful. Trial smiles can be created and demonstrated for patients using this technology that enables them to take a test drive of their potential new smile. Utilizing these cool digital tools, Dr. Krippaehne can recreate the trial smile in the final treatment outcome by essentially doing "cut and paste" dentistry. In some cases more than just restorative dentistry (porcelain veneers) needs to be utilized. At West End Dental, we have the ability to work in collaboration with Invisalign and DSD Lab to ensure that the project of creating a new smile is respected from start to finish.
