A Dental First Aid Kit Every Home Should Own

Posted on 1/24/2022 by Office of Dr. James A. Krippaehne
A Dental First Aid Kit Every Home Should OwnOnce in a while, you will find you or your loved one in need of emergency dental attention. A child might break their tooth, and this needs an emergency. There is something you should be able to do to ease pain or stop bleeding before getting to the dentist. The dental kit should have.

Dental supplies

Ensure that you have gloves, and this will enable you to work safely to help someone. Cotton wool is good to stop gum bleeding or any other bleeding, Dental floss is to remove uncomfortable stuck food particles Finally is a dental mirror which will help see all corners of the mouth when it is injured when attached to the head.

Painkillers and medication

There are some things like ice packs which are vital when you lose a tooth. Relieve pain by using painkillers like ibuprofen and Orajel which offer instant relief for tissue damage. The dentist will guide you on how to each item that is contained in your dental kit.

Always double check

You don't have to be a dentist to respond quickly to a dental emergency. Avoiding the dentist for something you can do yourself can save you and your family a lot of pain and money if you have basic dentistry knowledge and a well-stocked dental emergency kit. Always be prepared and double-check all of your equipment to ensure that it is complete and in good working order.

Some injuries, such as a knocked-out tooth, are too serious for a simple home dental cure and will require expert assistance from a dentist. If this occurs, there is still something you may do to treat the problem before visiting the dentist. All you have to do now is rinse the tooth with water and try to securely replace it in the socket.
