The minute you hear that you need an x-ray of your jaw, there would be multiple doubts that run through your head. For many years there have been numerous myths revolving around x-rays and how they can be bad for you. We want to educate our patients with regards to the advent of digital radiography which is why we want to bust myths related to it.

Common Myths About Digital Radiography

Many people believe that exposure to x-ray radiation is dangerous and could affect human life. Digital radiography does not emit that much radiation why it is a lot safer. Some people also believe that x-rays can lead to brain cancer. Digital radiography however does not increase your chances of getting cancer since you are not exposed to radiation.

The risk also depends on how safely the x-ray is performed. Our professionals are experts in this field and ensure they keep your health as their top priority. Most people believe that a dental x-ray is more of a threat because it is closer to the brain. There is no truth to this myth whatsoever and since we use digital radiography we are a lot safer as compared to traditional x-rays.

Pregnant Women and Children

One of the major myths that people believe is pregnant women and children should not get their x-ray. The benefit of visiting our pediatric dentists is we use low radiation child-friendly digital radiography machines. These machines are also used to capture x-rays for pregnant women and there is no question of a risk involved.
