| It begins by taking photographs and scanning the teeth. Digital tools are used to create facially driven smile designs that account for personality, facial flow and treatment goals. These designs deliver predictable results and a unique patient experience. Dr Krippaehne has been working with DSD app by Coachmen and the Digital Smile Design Planning Center in Madrid recently, focusing on smile makeovers utilizing digital smile design, a concept that uses new digital tools to create a smile design concept that can be used to obtain much more predictable results then in the past. The concept allows for patients to take a test drive of their proposed new smile and see for themselves the results that can be obtained. The phrase copy and paste dentistry has been used to describe this technique. But it is only through these digital tools that a concept smile can be precisely replicated to deliver the exact same final result. Dr Jim is currently working on becoming a DSD Master. Further course work will take him to Sao Paulo Brazil in 2020 for the next residency in digital smile design. |
