Ways of Explaining Your Dental Fears to Us

Posted on 3/30/2019 by Office of Dr. James A. Krippaehne
Ways of Explaining Your Dental Fears to UsDental fear is incredibly common, and we want you to know – we get it! We understand that for many people, a trip to the dentist office causes anxiety and a host of other emotions, but we are here to help. We want you to explain your dental fear to us so that we can help you through it.

Be Honest
The most important thing that you can do is to be honest with us about your dental fears. There are many great options available that can help us ease your anxiety, including sedation dentistry. If you don't tell us about your fears, we won't know to recommend certain options that can help you to feel more comfortable throughout your procedure.

Let Us Know Up Front
It is always a good time to tell us about your dental fears, but we encourage you to let us know right away. You might want to mention it while making your appointment, and please discuss it again when we meet with you. Before we start any type of treatment or work on your mouth, we'll want to make you as comfortable as possible.

Tell Us if You're Feeling Anxious or Uncomfortable

If at any time throughout your procedure, cleaning, or evaluation you feel anxious or uncomfortable, please let us know. We can likely adjust what we're doing in order to make you feel more at ease. Our goal is to get you the healthiest mouth possible while also ensuring that you feel good about the process.

Helping you to stay calm and comfortable throughout your dental procedure makes for a more pleasant and efficient experience. We want you to get the dental treatment that you need, and if you explain your dental fears to us, we can do so while keeping you comfortable. Call us today to learn more.
